Scope Alignment
ADHD research spanning neuroscience, clinical care, education, and lived experience. We prioritize evidence that improves assessment, treatment, and long term support across the lifespan.
Publishing Model
Open access, single blind peer review, and rapid publication after acceptance and production checks. Metadata validation and DOI registration are included.
Journal of ADHD and Care invites submissions that advance understanding, assessment, and care for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder across the lifespan. We welcome original research, systematic reviews, clinical studies, educational interventions, and policy analyses that improve outcomes for individuals with ADHD.
Our editorial focus prioritizes rigorous study design, transparent reporting, and actionable insights for clinicians, educators, and families.
We encourage submissions that connect neurodevelopmental science to real world care. Studies that integrate clinical, educational, behavioral, and community contexts are especially valuable.
- Neurobiology, genetics, and biomarkers of ADHD
- Assessment tools, screening pathways, and diagnostic accuracy
- Pharmacologic and non pharmacologic interventions
- School based supports and learning outcomes
- Digital therapeutics and technology enabled care
- Comorbidities, differential diagnosis, and complex cases
- Adult ADHD, transitions, and workplace function
- Family, caregiver, and community interventions
- Health equity, access, and culturally responsive care
Original Research
Clinical, behavioral, or educational studies with validated outcomes.
Systematic Reviews
Evidence syntheses that inform practice and policy.
Methods and Tools
Assessment or intervention innovations that improve care.
Brief reports are welcome when findings are timely and clinically meaningful. Submissions should provide clear context for ADHD care and explain implications for practice or support services.
Strong submissions present a clear research question, robust methodology, and transparent reporting of outcomes and limitations. We value work that demonstrates clinical relevance, practical application, and respect for lived experience.
- Well defined populations and inclusion criteria
- Validated measures and outcome definitions
- Appropriate statistical analysis and uncertainty reporting
- Interpretation aligned with clinical or educational impact
Research that incorporates patient and family perspectives strengthens relevance and implementation. Authors should document engagement methods and equity considerations, especially where access gaps affect diagnosis or treatment.
Submissions that connect clinical findings to classroom practice or caregiver support are strongly encouraged. We welcome pragmatic trials and implementation studies that report real world barriers, fidelity, and scalability across settings.
Clear descriptions of care pathways help readers translate evidence into services.
We value studies that report implementation barriers and practical recommendations for clinicians, teachers, and caregivers.
We also value clear implementation metrics.
Open Access Visibility
Research reaches global ADHD care teams.
Single Blind Peer Review
Expert review with editorial oversight.
Metadata and DOI Support
Structured metadata improves discoverability.
Care Impact
Evidence aligned to practice and outcomes.
Submissions undergo editorial screening for scope fit, ethics compliance, and reporting completeness. Qualified manuscripts move to single blind peer review with subject matter experts.

JAC operates under an open access model to ensure ADHD evidence is discoverable and reusable. APCs are applied after acceptance and support peer review, production, and archiving services.
Membership options and APC support are available for eligible authors. Contact the editorial office at [email protected] for guidance.
Submit via ManuscriptZone (https://oap.manuscriptzone.net) for full tracking and reviewer communication, or use the Simple Manuscript Submission Form (https://openaccesspub.org/manuscript-submission-form) for a streamlined entry. Both routes receive the same editorial screening and peer review standards.
Pre submission questions are welcome. Authors may share a short summary to confirm scope fit or article type.
After submission, the editorial office provides status updates during screening and review to keep decisions on track.
We encourage presubmission inquiries for novel methods, interventions, or mixed method designs.
JAC is committed to rigorous, transparent publishing in ADHD research and care. We emphasize reproducible study design, clear reporting of clinical and functional outcomes, and ethical compliance across all article types.
The editorial office supports authors, editors, and reviewers with clear guidance and responsive communication. For questions about scope or workflow, contact [email protected].
We encourage continuous improvement in reporting practices and share updates that help the community maintain high standards in neurodevelopmental science, clinical care, and educational practice.
