International Journal of Coronaviruses
Article Processing Charges
Submission and peer review are free. A single article processing charge applies only after a manuscript has been accepted, and payment status must not influence the editorial decision.
Per accepted manuscript. No submission fee. No review fee.
When the charge applies
Editorial assessment comes first
Submission
No fee is due when a manuscript is submitted.
Peer review
No review fee is charged. Editors and reviewers assess the manuscript independently of financial status.
Acceptance
After a final acceptance decision, the publisher issues an invoice for the applicable APC.
Production
Payment is ordinarily required before the final article is published. The invoice should identify the manuscript and the amount due.
No editorial advantage. Paying an APC, holding a membership, obtaining a discount or requesting a waiver does not accelerate review or improve the likelihood of acceptance.
Publishing services
What the APC supports
Editorial administration
Submission checks, reviewer coordination, editorial correspondence and maintenance of the decision record.
Article production
Copyediting, typesetting, proof preparation and production of the final PDF and XML where applicable.
Identifiers and metadata
DOI registration, bibliographic metadata preparation and links between the published article and the journal record.
Open access
Immediate reader access to the version of record under the journal’s stated open-access license.
Figures and supplements
The current journal record does not state separate online color-figure or supplementary-file charges.
Platform operation
Hosting, access, article delivery and maintenance of the publisher’s journal and submission infrastructure.
Optional support
Membership reductions and waiver requests
The current IJCV record describes the membership reductions below. Membership is optional and separate from peer review. Authors should confirm that a membership is active and applicable to the manuscript before relying on a reduced amount.
| APC basis | Reduction | Amount after stated reduction | Editorial effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard APC | None | USD 2,400 | None |
| Basic membership | 15% | USD 2,040 | None |
| Professional membership | 25% | USD 1,800 | None |
| Institutional membership | 35% | USD 1,560 | None |
The publisher’s waiver policy allows confidential requests based on need, lack of institutional or funder support and specified eligibility criteria. Any approval applies to the stated manuscript and remains separate from the editorial process. Review the publisher waiver policy before applying.
Invoice clarity
Payment, taxes and withdrawal
- Payment methods
- The current journal record lists credit card, PayPal, bank transfer and institutional purchase order. The issued invoice is the controlling payment instruction.
- Taxes and transfer costs
- The journal does not publish a standard tax schedule. Any tax, bank or currency-conversion charge must be itemized or confirmed in writing before payment.
- Withdrawal within three days
- A withdrawal requested within three days of submission incurs no charge.
- Withdrawal after three days
- The withdrawal charge is 30% of the applicable APC. Authors must receive official written confirmation of withdrawal before submitting the manuscript elsewhere.
- Corrections
- Routine correction of publisher-introduced production errors should not create a new APC. Substantial author-requested changes after publication require editorial assessment.
Written confirmation protects the publication record. A withdrawal is not complete until the editorial office confirms it. Contact [email protected] with the manuscript identifier.
