Biography
Xiou Cao, PhD, is a Senior Scientist at Novo Nordisk Research Centre China in Beijing, where his work focuses on molecular biology, protein engineering, antibody discovery, phage display, and assay development. He received his doctoral training at Duke University, where he studied host-pathogen interactions and neural regulation of immunity using C. elegans as a model organism, highlighting the role of dopamine signaling and dopamine neural circuits in regulating the p38/PMK-1 MAPK pathway. He also holds a degree from Peking University. His most-cited publication, "Bacteriophage trigger antiviral immunity and prevent clearance of bacterial infection" (2019), has been cited 435 times and reflects his contributions to understanding immune mechanisms at the intersection of viral and bacterial infections.
