Aims and Scope

The Journal of Advanced Forensic Sciences (JAFS) is aimed at providing readers and researchers with an up-to-date source of information from advanced forensic professionals.

The journal publishes research articles that focus on improving existing forensic practices in order to advance the field and better serve the needs of law enforcement and the legal system. It also serves as a platform for the exchange of ideas and information among forensic professionals, and it encourages international collaboration between scientists, scholars and practitioners.

 

Forensic pathology and toxicology: The study of the medical causes of death and the detection and analysis of toxic substances in biological samples.

 

Criminalistics and trace evidence analysis: The examination and interpretation of physical evidence in criminal investigations, including fingerprint analysis, ballistics, and trace evidence analysis.

 

DNA and molecular biology: The use of genetic and molecular techniques in forensic science, including DNA analysis and profiling.

 

Digital forensics and cybercrime: The examination and analysis of digital evidence in criminal investigations, including computer forensics and the investigation of cybercrime.

 

Psychological and behavioral profiling: The use of psychological and behavioral analysis to assist in criminal investigations, including offender profiling and crime scene analysis.

 

Forensic anthropology and archaeology: The application of physical anthropology and archaeology to criminal investigations, including the analysis of human remains and the interpretation of burial sites.

 

Fire and explosion investigations: The study of fire and explosion incidents to determine their origin and cause.

 

Quality assurance and accreditation in forensic science: The development and implementation of quality assurance and accreditation programs to ensure the reliability and validity of forensic science results.
