What the board does
JARH’s editorial board is not a list of names — it is the group of working researchers accountable for what the journal publishes.
Board members assess submissions on scientific merit, research ethics, and fit with the journal’s scope; they steer peer review, uphold publishing-ethics standards, and keep the journal anchored to aging research and healthcare. Their expertise spans the fields JARH covers, from the biology of aging to geriatric care, cognition, rehabilitation, public health, and aging-care policy.
Editorial decisions rest solely with the journal’s editors. Article-processing charges never influence acceptance.
Every submission is reviewed — Single-blind (double-blind on request) — by two or more independent referees before a decision.
Editors uphold COPE and ICMJE guidance on authorship, competing interests, corrections, and retractions.
The board keeps JARH focused on aging biology, geriatric care, and the systems that shape later life.
