Overview

Continuous Performance Tests (CPTs) are computer-based assessments that measure psychomotor abilities, attention and reaction time. The tests are commonly used to evaluate the performance of medical and non-medical professionals in several domains, such as pilots, drivers and athletes. In most cases, CPTs measure the individual's ability to accurately identify and respond to visual and auditory stimuli in a timely manner. The tests are widely used in the screening process for selection, promotion and regulation of employees in the medical, military and aviation fields, as well as in the assessment of athletes and sports teams. CPTs can provide invaluable feedback to organizations and individuals seeking performance improvement, by helping them to identify areas for improvement and establish accountability for performance.
