Overview

Cancer genome editing is a rapidly-evolving field of research that is aimed at curtailing the effects and progression of cancer by targeting specific genetic pathways. Through cutting-edge technology and engineering, scientist are able to modify the genetic code of cancer cells, enabling them to better understand and tackle the disease. Through cancer genome editing, scientist are able to identify mutations occurring in cancer cells and develop targeted treatments that aim to reduce cancer cell proliferation, as well as induce cell death in order to stop the disease in its tracks. Cancer genome editing also has potential to enable researchers to develop more personalized treatments to individual patients, thus providing more effective care and outcomes.
