Reason for Retraction
This is a retraction notice. VIEW THE RETRACTED ARTICLE (https://doi.org/10.14302/issn.2379-8572.joa-14-548), which was published on 10 June 2015
This notice is issued by the Editor-in-Chief on behalf of the Journal of Otolaryngology Advances (Open Access Pub).
Citation of retracted article
Pang Aaron (2015). Fibrous Dysplasia of the Thyroid Cartilage – A Case Study and Review of the Literature. Journal of Otolaryngology Advances 1(2):1–5. https://doi.org/10.14302/issn.2379-8572.joa-14-548. Published: 10 June 2015.
Reason for retraction
Following an editorial investigation, we confirmed redundant (duplicate) publication. A substantially similar article by the same author was previously published in Journal of Clinical Case Reports in 2014: Pang A (2014). Fibrous Dysplasia of the Thyroid Cartilage – A Case Study and Review of the Literature. J Clin Case Rep 4:335. doi:10.4172/2165-7920.1000335. The earlier publication constitutes the version of record. The later OAP publication did not disclose the prior publication or meet the criteria for acceptable secondary publication.
Process
The investigation followed COPE guidance for handling redundant publication. The corresponding author and the editor of the earlier journal were notified and given the opportunity to respond prior to this decision. The Editor-in-Chief determined that retraction is required to correct the scholarly record.
Record status
The retracted article remains available to maintain the scholarly record and is clearly marked RETRACTED on the HTML and PDF versions. This notice links to the article, and the article links to this notice. The article’s open-license terms remain unchanged.
Approvals
Approved by the Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Otolaryngology Advances.
Date of retraction: 25 March 2016.
