Reason for Retraction
This is a retraction notice. VIEW THE RETRACTED ARTICLE (https://doi.org/10.14302/issn.2372-6601.jhor-20-3189), which was published on 1 April 2020
This notice is issued by the Editor-in-Chief on behalf of the Journal of Hematology and Oncology Research (Open Access Pub).
Citation of retracted article: Yassongui Mamadou Sekongo; Kabore Saydou; Kouakou Boidy; Kouamenan Sidonie; Kassogue Kadidja; N’Guessan Parfait; Oue Nabo Bertin; Konate Seidou; Sanogo Ibrahima (2020). Assessment of the Risk of Hemochromatosis in Polytransfused Sickle Cell Patients at the Abidjan Transfusion Therapy Unit. Journal of Hematology and Oncology Research 3(4):7–13. DOI: 10.14302/issn.2372-6601.jhor-20-3189. Published: 1 April 2020.
Reason for retraction: Following an editorial investigation, we confirmed redundant (duplicate) publication. A substantially similar article by the same authors was previously published on 7 February 2020 in American Journal of Biomedical and Life Sciences 8(1):20–24, DOI: 10.11648/j.ajbls.20200801.15. The earlier publication constitutes the version of record. The later JHOR publication did not disclose prior publication or meet the criteria for acceptable secondary publication.
Process: The investigation followed COPE guidance for handling redundant publication. The corresponding author(s) and the editor of the other journal were notified and given the opportunity to respond prior to this decision. The Editor-in-Chief determined that retraction is required to correct the scholarly record.
Record status: The retracted article remains available to maintain the scholarly record and is clearly marked RETRACTED on the HTML and PDF. This notice links to the article, and the article links to this notice. The article’s open-license terms remain unchanged.
Approvals: Approved by the Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Hematology and Oncology Research.
Date of retraction: 29January 2021.
